Welcome!
Thank you for visiting our Bay Area web page (you can also find us on our corporate page at Homewatch CareGivers of San Mateo County.)
If you're exploring in-home care options as a prospective client, an adult child, relative or friend, conservator, or attorney, this site is for you. We help people of all ages (primarily seniors) who need assistance in order to live or recover at home. We provide care on an hourly or shift basis. Our hourly care is provided for people who desire service from 2- to 12-hours. Our shift care is provided in blocks of 12-hours or 24-hours. Our company is open 24 hours, including weekends and holidays, to serve the needs of our existing and prospective clients. Our busienss hours are M-F 8 am to 5 pm.
It's our goal to provide quality care so our clients, their children, families, friends, conservators, and others receive the benefits most people want and need from in-home care – a sense of independent living and self-reliance (as much as possible), preservation of dignity, relief from stress and guilt, safety and security, freedom from worry, and peace of mind. We achieve these goals by assisting with the activities of daily living (ADLs) - meals, shopping, dressing, toileting, transferring and ambulation, personal and oral hygiene, medication reminders, continence, companionship, and transportation. We also have lots of experience working in a hospice environment.

What We Do / Don't Do
Homewatch CareGivers is a (business) licensed in-home care franchise agency that provides a range of services (non-invasive to the body) to help people live at home. Our services include meals, grocery shopping, dish washing, companionship, light housekeeping (sweep, mop, dust, vacuum), transportation, laundry (wash, dry, iron, fold, put away), bed linen changes, medication reminders, walking and transferring assistance, personal and oral hygiene (bathing, hair washing, grooming, brushing teeth, lotions, etc.). We do not do anything invasive to the body. We use a contract Registered Nurse (RN) to work with clients' physicians when invasive services are needed.
How We Work
Each caregiver is our employee, not yours (this saves you the hassle of being viewed as the employer for tax reasons). Each caregiver speaks and writes English fluently. Each passes a thorough background check, is bonded, has liability insurance, has auto insurance, and has worker’s compensation insurance. We (not you) are responsible for all local, state and federal payroll, income and employer taxes (we use a CPA firm for payroll and taxes). No cash is ever exchanged between clients and caregivers. Instead, we invoice weekly and you pay once you receive the invoice. We find that conducting business in this fashion protects a client’s personal assets from exposure in the unlikely event a caregiver decides to sue. Other benefits include:
· Same caregiver every time: we believe having the same caregiver promotes bonding
· Backup help: we have substitutes who can fill in if the primary caregiver is sick
· Reliability: we arrive on time, every time, and perform all duties with a positive attitude
· Experience: our caregivers have 3-35 years’ experience providing in-home care
· Personal guarantee: the owner personally guarantees you will be satisfied with our service
